Autobiographical Narrative
My name is Nancy Marquez and I am seventeen years old. My mom gave birth to me on October 21,1998 in Lindsay, California. I come from a family of five; I have an older brother and younger brother. A couple of months after I was born my parents decided to move to Carson City, Nevada. I attended kindergarten there and then moved back to Lindsay at the end of the school year. I think my parents made the right decision on moving back to Lindsay because I wouldn't be the same person I am today. Having all my family live here is a great because they have supported me through tough times. My family means the world to me, I know that they are always going to have my back. This small town of Lindsay and my family have helped shape the person I am today.
Throughout high school I have struggled with deadlines; I procrastinated so much during sophomore year that I put myself in a situations where I had to complete two project all in one night because they were due the next day. Those projects were not the best work I could've done and because I did them last minute I wasn't able to make them a level four. So the beginning of junior year I set a goal for myself which was that I would turn in assignments and projects before the deadline. This allowed me to get my essays reviewed by my peers and make sure everything is correct. I now know how to manage my time and that is a very important skill when I attend college. another stuggle of mine was prioritizing what was more important to me and my education. I would spend time watching moviesand being on social media when I should've been doing homework.
Joining clubs and being involved in the community has helped me meet new people and I was open to new opportunities. I was the president of Key Club my junior year and it opened many doors for me so I continued to do it for my senior year. On the weekends every club in Tulare County would meet up at a certain high school and we would discuss how to help our community and make changes to our club to improve it. Throughout the year I would volunteer as much as I could in our community events.
After high school I plan to attend University of San Diego or UC Irvine. I know that these schools are going to be tough getting into but I will do my best to show them that I am a great candidate for their school. I want to major in business administrator. There are great business programs in the colleges I want to attend. By majoring in business I want to open up a business in a the city I decide to live in.
